I started my first mosaic a few months ago and wrote about it. Now I have finally finished it and although I’m not entirely happy with it, the finished piece does deliver what I wanted which was to try creating a mosaic and see what I could learn.
I started to think about adding another media to mosaic and where I live there are lots of Willow trees so I started to add brown and red Willow strips. I think the effect is interesting but I still can’t quite decide if Willow and mosaic go together.
I learned a lot – selecting, cutting, grouting, mixing colours…
So what’s next? A second mosaic or something completely different?

Gorgeous! I love your experimentation with materials. Willow strips! Who’dve thought. I’m hoping to share my recent experience of mosaic-making soon on my blog. It’s a big (and rather fraught) creativity story.

Yep. Big. Fraught. And ultimately deeply creatively expansively connecting and spiritual. Can you believe it?

No better way to learn than to get your hands into it and try, and you will be amazed of how much you can do!
Can I suggest floor tiles a la mediterranean for a outdoor patio, like a binding or on a stair…
