I created these figures 12 months ago but didn’t know what to do with them. So they languished in the garage getting beaten up. In these isolation times I found myself starting to get fed up and down by week 5. So I brushed these off, repaired them, placed them on a board and painted them. I am quite happy with the figures as a concept or test piece. The photos don’t quite show the detail which is a shame. Maybe I will paint them a different colour. I think I could do more with the idea.

What do you see? A family? Hunter gatherers? Yesterday? 3000 years ago? It’s your imagination…
wonderful figures- timeless – what a creativity of a family – may be interested which kind of material?? Please create more of this .kind of beautiful art work……

Thank you. I used a wire maquette/armature and then clay. I have used the same technique once before when I created some creatures out of my imagination https://wordpress.com/block-editor/post/passajer.wordpress.com/384 but I like the family with the hound as it seems to create something very ageless and human.

Wow. Just wow. To me they’re figures passing through our reality for just a second on their way to ??? And paying us no attention being focused on their own concerns.

I hadn’t noticed they are paying no attention to us! But yes, they do seem to know what they are doing. I wonder if they know where they are going or whether they are searching for something or somewhere?

I got a distinct vibe of purposefulness. So I think they know where they are going and if they are searching, they know what for. That’s my read.

I see a family taking a walk during the stone age times. This is really good.
What did you use to make them?

Thank you! Wire and then some clay around the wire. Painted with some acrylic paint afterwards.

What an artwork. I like it very much. They look alive in a way. I wonder what they thinking about.

Thank you Anna. I wonder why they look alive? They are not realistic, but the shapes seem to be recognisable to humans as a human family. I will never understand why we interpret shapes in the way we do. Yes I also wonder what they are thinking about. I think each one (and the dog) are thinking about different things. The man: will I be able to protect my family and lead them to the place we spoke about? The woman: when can I feed my baby and will the man be able to find the place? The girl: will I be strong like my mother when I grow up? The boy: I like my dog. The dog: I love walking!

an interesting discussion, my feeling is, that in every art piece an artist create with strong passion, you will find something ( dream, wish, feeling. not the reality) of the soul inside covered in this the person…the artist may be unconscious.. but each who will regard it, will find different interpretation, situation in which the beholder is……..

I think it is from some memory of mine from long ago in the north.
